Prior to beginning the University of Florida Law School at the age of 31 Joe worked in Sales and Marketing for national companies such as Coca-Cola and Manpower, Inc. He also spent time marketing Florida agricultural products for the Florida Department of Agriculture

Joe has maintained a law office in Central Florida since 1971

Joe is married to Sarabecca. He and Sarabecca have 2 children and Joe has 4 children from a prior marriage Joe also has 3 grandchildren.
